Dear Signees,

Punjab is a land rich of culture, resilient history, and the living legacy of a 7000 year old civilization. Punjabi, the language of a free peoples which is ingrained in the hearts of the people. Our identity is one filled with valor, honor, oneness, acceptance, and unrelenting resolve. Now more than ever, we the Punjabi people must dig deep and preserve our Punjabiyat.

Since our last update, the wheels have been turning of the machine working against Punjab and Punjabi's in over drive. However, we the PLM have also been at work to counter those who desire to suppress and oppress the 110 million Punjabi's of Pakistan. We are very happy to share with you, that the Punjabi Language Movement Platform is ever growing. It has branched out, received support, and proudly opened chapters in Canada, United Kingdom (UK), the Gulf, and more are planned to open. We want to share with you all that your signatures and continued support has been extremely well received and has once again influenced other Punjabi's around the globe to speak up about Punjab.

Although October 15th has already passed, our goal to keep Punjab united is stronger than ever. October 15th was the official creation of the South Punjab Secretariat, but this has laid down the foundation for the division of the Province which we must stop at all costs.

Recent Developments:

The minister of Culture and Information of Punjab Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan insulted and degraded the Punjabi language in a public speech in the Capital city of Islamabad. This was just one of many re-ocurring comments that the government establishment have made and keep making about Punjabi's mother tongue whilst giving it no respect nor any official recognition. We are happy to report, that the Punjabi people did protests this inflammatory rhetoric all too common in Pakistan, and Mr. Chohan was rightfully Sacked from his position.

A peaceful protest of Punjabi Farmers in Lahore, was brutally attacked by the police who used tear gas, baton charge, high pressure water filled with deadly chemicals. Leaving many peaceful protesters injured and caused a death of one.
