Still no word from the developer of the Vela Tower (also known as the Turquoise Tower) in Pacific Beach. The builder has not responded to a December 2025 letter from the City of San Diego Development Services Department requesting clarification on a number of issues. Since then, the developer has remained silent. No building or demolition permits have been issued.

That doesn’t mean we’re slowing down. This is too important. We are working to get the word out and raise awareness. We are talking to as many local groups as we can. On Wednesday, we spoke at a meeting of the Windansea Surf Club. Big thanks to the group for giving us the opportunity. If you have, or know of, a group interested in getting a presentation, please email us at cweigle@daumweigle.com .

Please keep up the great job of getting out the word. We have more than 4,000 signatures on the petition, and we’re on the way to 5,000. Please share the link.

Another thing you can do is donate to the legal fund here.

Also, keep writing to San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria and San Diego City Council President Joe La Cava. Ask them to stop this dangerously large development from being unleashed on our community.
