Notes from Joe La Cava (SD City Council, district 1) Town Hall 3/4/26

• La Cava remains strongly opposed to the Tower (laws passed by the state are taking control of development away from local communities and governments)
• The fate of Turquoise Tower is still in limbo. The developer has not responded to the city’s latest request for additional information
• The good news is La Cava believes there are other tools and methods the city can use to push back on the Tower. He did not elaborate
• The bad news is La Cava eluded to the idea that if Turquoise Tower gets built, it will lead to more highrises
