Unfortunately, the Local Plan Committee voted unanimously to move Site A27 (Land south of Burton Road, Ashby) forward to the next stage (Regulation 19) with sympathies given from one council member to local residents.
Thank you to everyone who signed and sent questions - your voices were heard in the room. You can still watch the live stream here.
What is Regulation 19?
It’s the formal, pre-submission consultation on the draft Local Plan. There’s a 6-week window where the public can submit legal/soundness objections that go on the record for the Planning Inspector. This is our best opportunity to influence or remove A27 before Examination.
Our focus at Reg 19
We’ll be asking to remove A27 or defer until there is scientifically proven mitigation and full, sound documents that are currently still missing.
How you can help (simple steps)
- Stay subscribed here: we’ll post the Reg 19 dates and links as soon as we can.
- Be ready to submit a short objection.
- Gather evidence now: Photos/video of traffic issues on the NW side of Ashby (date/time/location). Wildlife records (bats, birds, hedgerows/ditches) - log on NatureSpot or via LRERC. Any documents on estate charges or access/adoption affecting Rushey Close/Bishop Hall Rd.
- Please share this update locally. The decision isn’t final-Reg 19 is where we can make the strongest case.
Thank you for your continued support.
