To those entrusted with our shared heritage,

Lourdes Hall is not just a building—it is a keeper of memory, a vessel of legacy, and a sacred space for countless hearts. Its halls have echoed with the footsteps of generations, its architecture standing as a silent witness to the spirit, faith, and transformation that defined a community.

With the recent announcement of its demolition after the sale to Cotter School, we risk losing not just brick and stone, but a living testament to history and connection. The public feels they were deceived, as another offer was presented, which would have preserved the building and provided  needed housing for the community. 

We, the undersigned, urge all decision-makers, donors, and stewards of our cultural memory to pause and consider alternatives before this irreplaceable treasure is lost forever.

We call for:

-An immediate stop to the demolition of Lourdes

-A formal exploration of preservation alternatives including nomination to Minnesota's State Register of Historic Places and repurposing the building for the greater good of the community 

-The mobilization of alumni, preservationists, and community partners

Lourdes Hall deserves to live—not just in memory, but in presence. Its story is still being written.
