
I hope this message find you well. This is an update on how things are unfolding with the demovictions occurring in Sidney. Council will deliberate on and hear Highstreets revised (but not really) plans to redevelop the existing housing at 9972 and 9960 Third Street this evening at 6pm. This rezoning application should have triggered the town's Tenant Assistance Policy, but this failed to happen resulting in the loss of 20 units of below market housing and new plans to build 75 new luxury units. Highstreet also has plans to cut down the 100+ year old trees that border the Fourth street portion of the property for road allowances. These trees were planted to commemorate local soldiers who lost their lives in battle. The council meeting can be watched online tonight at the following Youtube link:
