Dear Friends & Supporters of Webb Shadle Public Library,
I am thrilled to share that our petition has reached a milestone of 350 signatures! Your unwavering support has been instrumental in this achievement, and we cannot express our gratitude enough.
It's inspiring to witness the impact we've had on our community, and I'm excited to share some recent highlights:
Recent Events:
- Earth Day Story Time (April 22nd): We engaged over 25 kids and adults in a special story time event to celebrate Earth Day. We ended up planting over 20 saplings.
- Science Center Dome (April 17th & 18th): All students from 1st to 6th grade at Pleasantville Elementary had the opportunity to explore the wonders of science.
- Performance by Desdemona (April 15th): High school students in choir, band, and speech were treated to an unforgettable performance.
- NASA Volunteer Story Time (April 8th): Nearly 50 individuals joined us for a captivating story time session led by a NASA volunteer, centered around the eclipse.
Library Visits:
In February, we welcomed over 745 visitors to the library, and in March, this number increased to over 790. These figures underscore the vital role our library plays in our community's educational and cultural enrichment.
Now, more than ever, we need to amplify our voices and ensure that the will of our city is honored. With an overwhelming 75% approval rate when the city voted to fund the library just two years ago, it's clear that our cause resonates deeply with our community.
I urge you to help us spread the word by sharing this petition on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp, as well as through email and text messages. Every signature counts, and together, we can make a tangible impact.
Thank you once again for your steadfast support. Together, we are making a difference and ensuring that our library continues to be a beacon of knowledge and community spirit.
Warm regards,
Jazmin Morrison
