📢 Petition Update: Nearly 14,000 Signatures Strong!
First and foremost, THANK YOU to every single person who has signed, shared, emailed, called, and shown up. We are now approaching 14,000 signatures, and that momentum was clearly visible at last night's City Council meeting.
More than 200 residents packed the chambers, and over 100+ community members signed up to speak and share their concerns. Although public comment time was reduced from 3 minutes to just 1½ minutes per speaker, residents still made their voices heard loud and clear.
Unfortunately, the response from some city leadership was disappointing. Many residents witnessed comments that were dismissive of community concerns, and the meeting ultimately ended abruptly before the Council could fully respond due to reported threats made during the proceedings.
Despite these challenges, one thing is clear: our community is paying attention, and our voices are being heard.
Local media outlets have now begun covering this issue, and that would not be happening without the thousands of residents who have stepped up, signed the petition, attended meetings, and demanded transparency.
But this fight is not over—it's just beginning.
We must continue building momentum. Keep researching. Keep asking questions. Keep sharing information with your neighbors. Keep attending meetings. Keep holding our elected officials accountable.
If you have resources, expertise, legal knowledge, media contacts, environmental connections, or relationships with organizations that may be able to help, please reach out and connect with us. Every contribution matters.
Together, we have shown what community action can accomplish in just a matter of days. Let's continue standing united and fighting the good fight for Pittsburg's future.
