This morning, CBC Radio interviewed Tim de Freitas and myself on Kelowna's Daybreak. (interview starts at 55.37). Sorry for all the "ums" and "ahs"! I think Tim did a great job speaking to the geological issues at play and the dangers proposed by logging in our area. I hope I provided a bit of context to the various concerns the residents in my area have about road usage, aquifers and wells, flooding and land/mudslides, and insurance.

One thing we definitely didn't have time to address at all is the natural bounty of this area. The residents in my area live here because we love this environment. People come here to hike, bike, quad, ride horses. There is so much wildlife here - bear, cougars, coyotes, deer, barred owls, eagles, moose. Wood frogs are also in this area, and this is a protected species under the BC Wildlife Act. And the trees in this proposed cutblock area - predominently cedar and fir - are large and beautiful.

We want to protect our hillside from the kind of destruction and massive change that would happen due to a cut block so close to us – LITERALLY NEXT DOOR for Tim.

Despite any lack in our radio interview, it seems we've captured the attention of the media as Global Okanagan wants to interview us later this week. Stay tuned for those details.
