Stop the Cull: Introduce Humane Methods to Control Deer Population in the Royal Parks

Stop the Cull: Introduce Humane Methods to Control Deer Population in the Royal Parks
The Issue
Deer populations in the Royal Parks are currently controlled through the barbaric practice of shooting to kill.
This is an outdated and unnecessarily cruel method which causes significant distress to the deer population over the 12 week cull period.
Deer are intelligent creatures who socialise in family groups and are both terrified and traumatised by the cull.
The Royal Parks argue that the culls are necesssary to protect the health of the deer and the park.
This petition is not asking for population control to stop. Instead, we are asking the parks to stop the shooting and introduce a humane alternative method, such as contraception, which is being used successfully in various studies worldwide.
Stopping the cull already has a huge amount of public backing. A petition in 2017 reached over 140,000 signatures. However, this hasn’t yet convinced the Royal Parks to stop the cull. It should be noted that the Royal Parks makes a substantial amount of money from the sale of the dead deer. This money should not justify the slaughter of such gentle creatures.
Help us to promote kindness and respect toward the deer population in the Royal Parks. Please sign this petition to show your support for humane deer population control.
