Firstly, thank you so much. With your help we’ve reached an amazing number of signatures, and we’re continuing to share this petition far and wide. What matters most now is local support, as signatures from people in the area carry even more weight with the authorities. Every share and every name added is making a real difference.

As our community of supporters has been investigating and keeping a close eye on things, some very troubling new concerns have come to light. In several photos, eagle-eyed supporters have spotted rodent poison placed in areas accessible to the rabbits, with no supervision to prevent them from coming into contact with it. Even more disturbing is a photo showing a young child right next to the poison, without any form of PPE.

Not only does this raise serious questions about animal welfare, but also about the safety of children visiting the café.

We want to reassure you that all of this evidence is being collected and will be escalated through the proper channels.

As we’ve been sharing the petition more widely, particularly in local groups, we have faced pushback from the café owner and her supporters. They have publicly tried to dismiss these very real concerns as “bullying.” Yet, rather than focusing on the welfare issues, they have resorted to personal attacks, including sharing personal details about the petition organisers, commenting on appearances and even wishing death on others. This only reinforces how important it is that we continue to speak up for the rabbits, calmly and clearly, and keep the focus where it belongs: on their wellbeing.
