As parents and residents of Atlantic Highlands and Highlands, we strongly oppose the proposed construction of a cell tower on Henry Hudson Regional School property.

While the school district is considering this project for its potential–though not guaranteed–revenue and improved cell service, we believe that the prospective negative health risks far outweigh any benefit. Placing a cell tower so close to our children, where they spend seven or more hours each day, turns them into unwilling test subjects in the ongoing debate about the potential hazards of long-term exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation.

Current research does not conclusively prove that long-term exposure to RF radiation is safe for children. It would be reckless to enter a lease agreement for 25 years without definitive proof of safety. 

Our children's health must take priority.

We urge the Henry Hudson Regional Board of Education to reject this proposal and seek alternative solutions for funding that supports the district without compromising the safety and well-being of our students.
