The Odeon Cinema in Kettering is one of the last few places of entertainment that this bleak town has.

The Kettering branch of Odeon has been around for decades and has seen many changes but has also given countless hours of entertainment to cinemagoers who just want to go and watch their favourite film, something which they won't be able to do when the cinema is gone.

With the rise of streaming services, the atmosphere of going to a cinema with your friends is lost. Not to mention with rising fuel costs, travelling to another town to see a film is barely an option. Action needs to be taken to preserve this, not just for Kettering, but for the surrounding towns and villages as well.

We need to make a stand and keep what entertainment we have in this town and not stand idly by whilst more houses or flats or warehouses are built.

If, for whatever reason, this petition to prevent the closure of the Odeon cinema is unsuccessful, I hope it shows Odeon that the need for a cinema in Kettering is strong, and that a swift decision is made to transform one of our many derelict buildings into a cinema.
