We are part of the greater Bound Brook community, and this issue deeply impacts each one of us. The proposed closing of the Bound Brook Library is devastating. This cherished library is not merely a building with books - it is a cornerstone of our community, an educational hub, and a safe space for learners and explorers of all ages. The Somerset County Library Commission, the Borough Council, and the Somerset County Library System need to take immediate action to prevent this closure.

Even as the digital world expands, libraries remain vital. According to the American Library Association, libraries in the United States welcome over 1.3 billion visits each year. They provide free access to knowledge, technology, and resources that many in our community depend upon.

Our request is clear and urgent. Rather than closing the Bound Brook Library, we ask the responsible parties to find a suitable temporary location to continue providing these invaluable services during any transition period.
