The City of Portland’s preliminary budget proposal includes shuttering St. Johns Community Center as a potential “solution” to a projected $93 million budget gap, while they’re still funding projects on the west side. 

Let’s be clear: closing down vital community spaces in working-class neighborhoods is not a solution—it’s a slap in the face.

So we’re fighting back—with heart, with family, and with a whole lot of noise!

Join us for a family-friendly rally on Monday, April 1 at 6:00 PM at the St. Johns Community Center!

There will be kids’ activities, music, signs, and rally cries—plus media coverage to help spread our message far and wide. This is a time to celebrate our neighborhood and let the city know: St. Johns is not disposable.
