On Thursday 2nd October 2025 North Tyneside council have announced the "proposed" closure of Monkseaton Middle School in September 2027 with no new admissions in September 2026.

Please help us to save our school!

Monkseaton Middle School has become popular over the last few years especially amongst the SEND community and parents who's children benefit from a smaller, more emotional wellbeing and mental health inspired environment. Unlike other schools in the borough they often have appropriate support on hand within the school and don't need to rely on external providers.

Our school is loved by it's pupils who are devastated and confused over the announcement. Loved by the headteacher and faculty who have helped the school turn around it's precious reputation into a positive one. Loved by the parents who haven't always had an easy time in regards to schools for their children and have been able to see the joy the school has brought.

Please help us by signing this petition in hope that the council will reconsider the closure of the school!
