UPDATE as of Feb. 9, 2023:  Thanks to all your support, we persuaded council to fund the pool for 2023.  They voted 6-1 in favour of funding.  Watch this space for updates next month as we start to tackle a longer term plan to keep the pool open for our community in 2024 and beyond!

Cobourg's town council is currently considering closing and decommissioning the outdoor Centennial Pool at Cobourg Beach (https://www.cobourg.ca/Modules/Facilities/Detail.aspx?id=3430b8ab-1c0b-4d3a-b783-59ea41410fc7  

This pool is an important facility for swimming lessons, fitness, and recreation and allows Cobourg residents and visitors to make the most of being outdoors during the summer season. Outdoor physical activity is crucial to our well-being and allows those at risk of respiratory disease a low-risk option for exercise (as compared with exercising indoors).  There is a lack of public outdoor pools in our region and this pool is used by many residents of the surrounding area.

We must ACT NOW before the Cobourg budget is approved later in February.
