Please see the following news article in the Sacramento Bee- about Southside Park pool that perfectly encapsulates why the City of Sacramento should not add to its maintenance obligations by re-doing Renfree Field. 

The article shows that the City doesn’t have the funds to maintain the facility after the fact, which is a covenant they had to agree to in order to get the state grant. (More on that later)

KCRA also took notice of this story. Seems Neighbors are frustrated not only near the “park too far” aka Del Paso Park, but in the City’s recreational areas all over. 

Oh! And take a look at the city’s answer to the question in today’s update-

$145,000,000 in deferred park maintenance projects. One hundred and forty five million. 

…and the pool in Southside needs just one million to be resurfaced.
