See recent local news from CBS 13 regarding our situation with the homeless crisis near Del Paso Regional Park. How much longer will the City of Sacramento allow people to continue to live in these unhabitable, squalid situations— in violation of multiple State Health & Safety Codes; destroying natural resources- without any intervention?
Want to Be Part of the Solution? Here’s an opportunity:
Sacramento Picks It Up!/Arcade Creek-Adopt a Creek project groups will be heading our way again soon. They invite everyone this weekend to a creek cleanup event Saturday 8:00 am in Del Paso Park- see details below.

“Come one, come all and meet us at the end of the road, adjacent to 3590 Park Road, for this continued cleanup of Arcade Creek through Del Paso Regional Park. We will be cleaning the .2 mile stretch from Bridge Road to the I-80 over-crossing. This is the FINAL stage of this nearly year-long effort to complete this 1 mile stretch of creek.
Unlike the work area at Rio Linda Blvd, this section of creek has lots of shade and has nice spots for easy egress and ingress, as well as flat spots up top for easy pickins. This event ranges in difficulty from 1.0 to 4.0. There’s actually something for almost everyone.
We will provide bags, but please bring along your sturdy footwear, grabbers, buckets and gloves - a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available.
Be safe, have fun and get some “Exercise with a Purpose”. As with all events shared on our Group or Page, participation is solely at your own risk.
This Event is created in coordination with the Arcade Creek - Adopt A Creek Project.”
Shout out to David Ingram, and all the hardworking volunteers who are committed to cleaning up Arcade Creek in Del Paso Park.
Thank you to all of you who care enough to volunteer your time in rehabilitating the natural resources in this beautiful area. Hopefully our elected officials will do more than just take notice, but will take ACTION. You truly are part of the solution, and we applaud you!
