Unfortunately, the Labour Cabinet at Norwich City Council have now formally voted to apply for the cancellation of city council elections across Norwich that were set to be held in May of this year. This means that the decision now rest with the central Labour government as to whether or not to grant the postponement. 

This will also have a knock-on effect on the county council elections that are scheduled to take place across Norfolk, also this May. As Norwich City Council has to run county council elections as well, this application from the Labour Cabinet could now threaten the county council elections across all of Norfolk, helping to keep the Conservatives in Norfolk County Council in power.
