Selection has closed on the Calgary Library's AI "Artist" in Residence program and the program appears to be moving forward, but I promise the the fight isn't over! Our vocal backlash lead to the Calgary Central Library programming an "A.I. and the Arts Community Conference" on Monday, May 11, at 6:00 PM.

Wouldn't be amazing to fill 300 seats with a feisty crowd of conscientious objectors? Each person can book up to 10 tickets, so grab ten of your proudly luddite friends and help push back against an evening of what appears to be another shameless attempt to legitimize A.I. as a creative tool. Honestly, I read some of the panelist bios and felt sick about the selected perspectives providing a 'balanced' discussion about the ethics of A.I.
I hope to see a fifth of you there expressing loud opposition! (or, even better, fifteen hundred of you protesting outside...)

While the updates have been quiet lately, I assure you that I've been far from inactive. I want to get this event invitation out asap so I'll finish up a new update soon, including why I applied for the AI Residency program (for some reason they rejected my proposal of... cough... not using AI for it) and my letter to the Board which included your signatures and comments!
