Following the recent decisions by London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Sec of State Sajid Javed, we understand that landlords Galliard Homes have now given the GRA the required six months notice to close the stadium. We say 'understand' as the SWSAG team have not been given the courtesy of formally being told, despite all of our work supporting to keep the stadium open that the GRA have also benefited from. Instead, like many of you, we had to read it in the Racing Post or online. Being brutally frank this is no surprise as all along we representing our sport have been treated with utter contempt by most along our journey. We ensured on Sunday that Spedeworth were aware of the position, allowing them to seek clarification, respond and plan the fixtures in 2017. We expect that no doubt they will make an appropriate statement themselves in the fullness of time. In the meantime, we go on. All the time the stadium stands the SWSAG team will continue to work to extend the stay of Oval Racing in the Capital. We do still have a couple of things up our sleeve that we have been holding back, which we will bring you details of when we can.
