Below is the news that the ‪#‎SAVEWIMBLEDON‬ team have been expecting for a little while now. This does not mean it's the end, not by a long chalk. What it does mean though is that ALL interested parties, whether stock car racing fans, greyhound fans, local residents or other local groups, now have to re-group and re-double our efforts. For our part, we'll be keenly awaiting a statement from Spedeworth and the sport's governing body ORCi, before deciding on our next move. Let us state here and now, there is still plenty of options available to us, as long as we are ALL fully united in our opposition. We won't sugar coat things, at this stage half measures and wishful thinking isn't going to cut it. As a group we will continue to be a thorn in the side of others who seek the demise of Wimbledon Stadium, and fully intend to fight on right until the end when the bulldozers appear, BUT we cannot do this alone and would encourage a robust collective response from those opposed to the proposals. In the meantime, whilst we fully understand and appreciate supporters anger and frustrations, we would ask for calm as we and others such as Spedeworth/ORCI fully digest all of the ramifications of this decision.
