Thank you all, we received 484 signatures of support.
Unfortunately even with your support, we were unable to get any real compromise from the Whangarei District Council infrastructure management staff on this project and our elected representatives appeared to not care or willing to help.
After receiving information provided from WDC regarding this project, it appears there is very little or no evidence to back up their claims of public safety or environmental concerns. (Not even an environmental impact report done). These along with claims of community consultation appear to have been fabricated to support the agenda of WDC and the selected few others involved. It is also very apparent that it was about building a "car-park" and the impact to the aesthetics of the natural surroundings, the beach, and how those that come here to enjoy it, was not given much if any consideration.
What used to be a great little beach, with a place to park, is now what most locals and visitors spoken to, consider an ugly car-park with a token beach.
