Thank you to everyone who signed. We had signatures from people living across 90+ countries. Many people shared and promoted this, and many of you paid to promote this as well which was unexpected and brilliant. We had amazing supporters who amplified our campaign across social media platforms. Thank you. 

We did not win this specific battle to get the lyrics changed but we now have some infrastructure to help us for future campaigns. 

We created:

 - a website
- 26 evidence-based posters
- two alternative Eurovision songs
- a couple of videos
- four longer-form articles .

We focused on creating public-facing resources, drawing on existing research already done by brilliant organisations such as the Institute for Addressing Strangulation and the Alliance for Hope International's Training Institute on Strangulation Prevention.  

We know that attitudes towards strangulation are shifting with the recent laws in some countries on non-fatal strangulation and criminalisation of pornography that features strangulation. Social media and mainstream media are still normalising and minimising strangulation though and we will continue to highlight where this is happening.

Scotland is the only country in the UK that does not have a standalone non-fatal strangulation law. 
Strangulation is violence that affects people - predominantly women - across the world. We hope you will show the support for their petition in the strength and numbers that have shown support for ours.
