5,000 and a little favour

Thank you to all of you for signing and sharing. We now have 5,000+ signatures.

It is important to hold broadcasters to account and I don't think the BBC's silence on this should go unchallenged. We are working out next steps to this. But in the meantime, I have a favour to ask...

Last year,  Fiona Drouet - founder and CEO of the charity EmilyTest - set up a petition to get the non-fatal strangulation law in Scotland.  Fiona's 18-year-old daughter, Emily, died by suicide as a result of abuse by a fellow student, that included strangulation.

There is already a standalone law for non-fatal strangulation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.  Scotland needs one too.

Please sign and share the petition set up by Fiona at EmilyTest to help protect and save lives in Scotland: https://www.parliament.scot/get-involved/petitions/view-petitions/pe2136-make-non-fatal-strangulation-a-standalone-criminal-offence-in-scotland
We'd also like to signpost you to the great work being done by that charity: https://www.emilytest.org

Thank you
