The country is reeling at the sight of this foal no more than 2 weeks of age, and the look of trauma on his face.
His mother and father were both shot in a brutal way on the Bluewater Creek near Townsville, this foal left to suckle on his dead mother for two days before being found by a local resident.
This is the face of what can happen when wildliving Brumbies are shot with foals being crushed or left to die. This little chap was left to die of starvation until found and Budd Young, a local rescued him and hand fed him until he could receive assistance from a Vet. Reports have been made to RSPCA and the local police. It is believed this shooting was not part of any authorised "cull" (which is horrendous in any event!) but the act of independent people.

Please sign the National Letter Petition which initiates a letter to be sent to your Members of Parliament and the Ministers for Environment in both New South Wales where ongoing trapping and sending some brumbies to knackeries is still taking place, despite protective Legislation. This makes a mock of the Parliamentary system.
