Many children and adults living in California rely on naturally-occurring, full-spectrum, hemp-derived CBD products as their medicine for epilepsy, autism, dementia, cancer, chronic pain and other serious and chronic illnesses. The California legislature has proposed Assembly Bill 2223, which will severely limit/ban THC in these naturally occurring CBD products. We cannot allow this to happen. Taking away medicine that patients have been using safely for over 10 years is cruel and inhumane. 

This bill was originally meant to ban semi-synthetic delta-8 and delta-9 products that have proliferated throughout the US. These products are contaminated with synthetic cannabinoids and other unintended by-products, which can cause psychosis, suicidal ideation and organ damage. These products ARE NOT THE SAME as naturally occurring CBD hemp with <0.3% THC nor are they the same as regulated tested products available in dispensaries. There is a big difference between synthetic delta-8/delta-9 and naturally occurring full spectrum CBD products. Our politicians can choose to preserve access to medicinal hemp CBD and also protect people from harmful synthetic products at the same time! 

For most people, their hemp CBD cannot be substituted with CBD from dispensaries due to high cost/taxes (even with compassionate pricing) and too low concentrations, especially for those on high doses (some take 800 - 1600 mg per day). The FDA-approved CBD product and hemp CBD isolates are proven not as effective and have more side effects compared to full spectrum CBD so these are not an option for most patients with refractory conditions.
