We, the undersigned, urge the Government of Ghana to reverse the appointment of Professor Ransford Gyampo as CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority.

Professor Gyampo was implicated in the BBC’s "Sex for Grades" investigation, which exposed lecturers at top universities coercing students into sexual relationships in exchange for academic favours. His appointment to a senior public position contradicts the principles of integrity and accountability that the Ghanaian government should uphold.

By allowing him to lead a public institution, we normalise predatory behaviour and silence victims of sexual misconduct. This is unacceptable. Ghana must take a stand against abuse of power and ensure that individuals with a history of unethical conduct do not hold leadership positions.
