I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this, but unfortunately, the Mayor of Philadelphia (Cherelle Parker) and the shit show that is the city council approved the arena construction. Being a NIMBY in this circumstance was actually a good thing unlike most other circumstances, but unfortunately, our efforts just weren't enough, and the project was approved. Chinatown will be destroyed, gridlock in Center City will be at its worst, Sixers fans won't attend games, and Center City will be even more of a commercial cesspool than it already is instead of flourishing with family owned businesses. I am starting to think that this petition was a failure because you did not follow my instructions and share it on social media platforms that you are actively using like I had instructed initially when I wrote the petition in August of 2022. At this point, the very least that you can do for me is sign this petition which I have been struggling to get signatures on ever since I've started it. Anyway, my condolences to the Asian-American population in Philadelphia who will be forced to either close or relocate their businesses elsewhere, and fuck the Philadelphia city council and Mayor Parker for approving this clusterfuck of an idea. And fuck the Sixers, they don't even deserve a new stadium. They are so terrible that they can't even get fans to attend games as it is. In fact, THE SIXERS SUCK DICK!!! I want to thank you all for trying and I want to thank you all for helping me lead this effort in stopping Center City from being destroyed. I have no idea if I will take further action from here, maybe I will start a petition to recall Mayor Parker, but I don't know. Merry Christmas everybody.
