Stop the £5 billion cut to the welfare spending bill

The Issue

The proposed spending cut to PIP and Universal Credit is set to have devastating consequences for those impacted by additional needs, financial hardship and those unable to work. Further cuts to their financial lifelines puts our friends, family and loved ones in real danger.

These cuts to “save money” will result in nothing less than social murder, at the hands of the Labour Party. Their obsession with work and abandoning of their foundational principles will only lead to more pressure on friends, family and public services, distress, more financial ruin and death. This is betrayal pure and simple. It has become clear that these people do not care about you.

I implore you to stand up and say, “No! We won’t be treated like animals!” Write to your local MP, your town Mayor, anyone with an ear to listen. Organise with local communities to spread awareness and demand an end to these proposals. Form connections with members of your communities with additional needs and offer what support you can. They deserve dignity and respect. Never forget that people are truly decent and the best thing we have is each other.

I call on the members of the Labour Party and others in government to hang on to the few scraps of integrity left and object to these proposals. To those who know these cuts will bring only disaster, now is your time to speak!
