The Issue

San Antonio city leaders are pushing forward discussions on a $1.5 billion new arena for the Spurs, as part of a larger $2.5 billion plan that lacks a clear funding strategy. Instead of prioritizing essential city services, infrastructure, and community investments, local officials are moving toward a costly sports and entertainment district that could drain public resources.

We demand that our tax dollars be used to benefit San Antonians—not to subsidize a private sports team. City leaders should focus on fixing roads, improving schools, supporting public safety, and addressing housing needs rather than pushing a massive stadium deal with uncertain financial backing.

The people of San Antonio deserve a say in how our money is spent. Sign and share this petition to tell city leaders: No public funds for a new arena—invest in our city instead!
