I would like to start this petition for our governor to stop raising taxes on cigarettes. Thhis seems to be happening whenever there feels a need to do it and it happens on a monthly basis now a days and is wrong to punish the smokers just to pay for unnecessary costs that does not have anything to do with tobacco. There is also a North Carolina Education Lottery and this money goes partly to schools and people of North Carolina pay a school tax regardless of having children in school or not. It seems to me that these politicians need to refigure this Education Lottery and put some of that money towards the uneccessary costs in staed of punishiung the smokers. They need to go after the cigarette compnies first not the smokers. The cigarette companies are making money off of killing people regardless of the smokers choice. They all might as well put a grim reaper symbol instead of a name brand over the pack of cigarettes.
