Whilst this can be subtle and appear to others as not a serious matter, when experienced several times a day over a period of years, it is a cowardly act of torture and abuse that should be dealt with as fast and as strongly as hate crimes. This type of anti-social driving behaviour affects not just our area but countless communities across the UK.
These activities not only intimidate and endanger innocent pedestrians but also disrupt the peace and safety of neighbourhoods. This issue might have reached its peak in known hotspots, but the anxiety it spawns spreads far beyond.
The time for discussion has passed; action is now necessary. We propose that when photographic evidence of vehicle misuse is supplied, authorities should have the power to seize the vehicles. This is not about penalising hobbyists or car enthusiasts but rather about ensuring community safety and giving police the tools they need to enforce existing laws effectively.
Sufficient visual documentation, for instance, images from CCTV or witness photographs, can serve as concrete evidence.
