A protest organised by members of Longford Westmeath Green Party will take place outside Mullingar Greyhound Stadium this Saturday 29th June from 6pm to 7pm.

The protest is prompted by last night's shocking "RTE Investigates: Greyhounds Running for their Lives" programme which pointed to Mullingar stadium as the track with the highest number of greyhound fatalities.

Over the past four years alone, 238 greyhounds suffered injuries at Mullingar stadium and 58 were killed by a track vet.

"Let's step up the fight to end this barbarity!" the Longford Westmeath Greens states on its Facebook Page.
