An IT company which lists Apple, Amazon and Vodafone among its clients is being urged to stop sponsoring greyhound racing.
At Dundalk track on 12 July, Northern Ireland-based EOS IT sponsored the "EOS IT Solutions Dundalk International 2018 Open 550", with a prize fund of €37,000 - https://www.igb.ie/results/view-results/?track=DLK&date=12-Jul-18#race8
In an appeal to EOS, the Irish Council Against Blood Sports stated: "The greyhound industry is inherently cruel with dogs injured, illegally doped, mutilated, dumped and killed. In the past three years, more than a thousand greyhounds suffered painful injuries at tracks around Ireland and 385 of them were killed by track vets. This includes 99 greyhounds injured and 41 killed at Dundalk track."
We also highlighted greyhound racing's links to hare coursing - "All greyhounds used in track racing are registered with the Irish Coursing Club. The registration fees help fund cruel coursing activities."
Please join us in urging EOS IT to show compassion for the dogs and end its greyhound racing sponsorship.
