I was not able to update you all yesterday, but wanted to give you some updates.
It is strongly encouraged to file with BOLI (OR) or L&I (WA) for any issues. Because I am a resident of WA, I filed my claim there.
I did write BOLI regarding our issues and concerns. They strongly recommend the following actions: FILING A WAGE CLAIM. Here is information they provided.
"We will send a letter, and according to the type and severity of the complaint we will proceed as is deemed appropriate. Regardless, it is important that you file the complaint so we have record of complaints for that employer. This information is valuable and may be useful in an investigation and in determining whether something needs investigating. If complaints continue to be received against an employer, we may open an investigation and take further action.
Regarding Sick Leave:
As for Oregon sick leave, one of the methods in which an employee may be notified on at least a quarterly basis of the hours of Oregon sick leave they have available for use, is on their paycheck stub i.e. earnings statement but it is not a requirement that those Oregon sick leave hours be listed there." ***Please note that there is CBA language for some of our bargaining units that supersede the law.
