Please consider writing comments or attending in person to let GCEDC know that data centers are noisy pollution generators and suck water and tons of energy. The full build out of the STAMP project is damaging to the environment and the ecosystem. The project violates the Treaty of Canandaigua. The project also violates the NYS CLCPA (Climate Law), the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act.
The proposed pipeline from Niagara County would run through wetlands and farmland. The pipeline would draw 6 million gallons of water daily from the Niagara River. The location of the data center would interfere with at least three streams or creeks and requires the US Army Corps of Engineers to alter the water systems.
The sewer pipeline would travel to the village of Oakfield and then be discharged into the Oak Orchard Creek and eventually to Lake Ontario. The attempt to run the sewer line across the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge last year resulted in a 500-1000 gallon spill of drilling fluid into the water of the refuge. Please contact the NYSDEC and demand that they pull the permits.
Please contact the Governor and demand the relocation of WNY STAMP.
