Hello Everyone,
To start, i would like to thank everyone for their support of this petition for changes to be made to Redding Rd., which would also eventually help all Fairfield roads. To start, I would like to inform you that the Fairfield Police Commission who oversee any changes to road in Fairfield met on July 12th, 2023 and decided to postponed any decision made to the road despite the approval of the Town Engineering Dept and direct support of 75 residents of Redding Rd. even though the required number of support be 50. The Police Commission ignored the approval of the Town Engineering Dept to install Rumbling strips, Fog lane designators, and address the overgrowth of weeds on the sides of Redding Road soresidents could walk on the grass. A proposal of changes for road changes in Fairfield was first presented to the PC in 2016. The PC has repeatedly denied any acknowlegement of petitions filed for changes or acted to investigate the need for changes in support of safety for the residents of Fairfeld. I refer you to the link below with the details of the PC meeting July 13, 2023 reported by Jarrod Wardwell of the CT Insider. At the present time we have 1776 signatures on the petition for changes: Stop Speeding on Redding RD on change.org. I now ask you to write directly to the members of the Police Commission requesting changes to Redding Rd. as they refuse to hear the need, and this group has been kicking the speed issue down the line for several years. This is not a party issue, its a town issue. The members of the PC are as follows and can be contacted at the following addresses:
PC@fairfieldct.org
Peter Ambrose (Chair) attypeterambrose@gmail.com 830 Burr St Fairfield 06824
Kevin Kiley: (Commissioner) kkiley@optonline.net 237 Steiner St Fairfield 06825
James Millington: (Commissioner) James.Millington@Raveis.com 245 Unquowa Rd #72 Fairfield 06824
Charlene Lebo: (Commissioner) Charlene@vanderblue.com
John Stone: (Commissioner) 195 Carroll Rd. Fairfield 06824
Ronald Pine: (Commissione & Former Chair) 36 Highlawn Rd. Fairfield 06824
Joseph Cafferilli: (Commisioner) 129 College Pl. Fairfield 06824
Despite any efforts made by the FPD, the commission decides what road change requests can be sent to the town engineers, and ultimately decide if the road changes can be made. The road safety in Fairfield has repeatedly been addressed with the PC, whom have repeatedly ignored it since 2016 ( as per the archives of the PC meetings). Please email and write the members of the PC to make the necessary changes. I will notify everyone of the next PC meeting to help support this agenda as they refuse to acknowledge the support of the residents of Fairfield and specifically the residents of Redding Rd. despite the signed petition and documentation they were provided.
