Great news!
The council have u-turned and decided to let us present our petition at the Transport and Connectivity Committee meeting today (23rd October). I’m sure that the many, many comments and questions that have been submitted will have played a part in their change of heart. 
While we are not at the finish line yet, this is definitely a step in the right direction!
