First, we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has signed the petition so far!
We have reached the number of signatures required to submit the petition to the council for a debate at the Transport and Connectivity Policy Committee meeting (who have decision making responsibility for Liveable Neighbourhood schemes)!
Unfortunately, Ed Plowden, the chair of the committee, has decided that this Thursday (23rd October) is not the time to discuss our concerns… that it would be best to debate the petition in December, after the consultation has closed!
While we would welcome the debate in December, we also believe that our concerns need to be heard by decision makers at the October meeting while the consultation is still open. Especially since many people have found the consultation survey biased and difficult to get their objections across.
Action required by Tuesday 21st October by 12pm:
We ask that if you feel strongly about this issue, please submit a comment to be included at the meeting on Thursday.
This comment could be about:
- How you will be affected by the proposals
- How you feel about the consultation survey
- Concerns you have about the safety of blocking up roads
- Ideas you have that would improve walking and cycling in Southville
- Thoughts about public transport in Southville
- Anything relating to South Bristol transport and connectivity
This is a great opportunity to make ourselves heard!
