Dear Neighbors and Friends of Windsor Forest,

We ask that you sign this petition AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as a SERIOUS ISSUE has recently arisen in our neighborhood. 
We need YOUR HELP to stop the construction of a 40-foot 5G Cell tower in the heart of our neighborhood. This project is set to begin in early August!

On May 10, 2023 Crown Castle began surveying an area in our neighborhood (cross streets Mountain Alder Lane & Red Spruce Way) in preparation to install a 40-foot 5G Small Cell tower. We have recently learned that this project is slated to begin in early August. 

This project is extremely concerning as 5G technology has been shown to emit significant amounts of electromagnetic radiation in the form of EMFs (Electromagnetic fields). Research indicates that EMFs are associated with serious health risks including increased incidence of cancer, male infertility, adverse effects on the development of embryos, fetuses and newborns, among other impacts. In 2011, WHO (World Health Organization) and IARC (International agency for research on Cancer) declared radiofrequency radiation to be cancer-causing. Several neighbors have written letters to Crown Castle relaying their concerns about locating 5G towers in the heart of our neighborhood. Dozens of families with numerous small children currently live within a 500 foot radius of the proposed site. Additionally, the proposed location would be directly adjacent to numerous honey bee hives and EMFs are known to significantly disrupt bee homing ability.

BOTTOM LINE: We every resident to sign this petition to voice our extremely serious concerns about this project to Crown Castle and pressure them to move these towers to an area located a safe distance from homes and our children. There are many open areas around the periphery of our neighborhood that would provide a safe and essential buffer against EMF impacts. A call has been placed to Crown Castle for more information and the Town of Fletcher planning office has been alerted. 
NOTE that this project will likely proceed without heavy pushback from Windsor Forest residents. We will NOT allow these towers or any other technology that poses such risks in the near vicinity of our children and families.  

Please sign this petition ASAP and share it with your neighbors and friends. The GOAL is to get every resident in WF to sign this petition by Friday, August 4th.
