Mastoureh Narimani, a dedicated fourth-grade elementary teacher in Ahvaz, was arrested on January 11, 2026, during a violent home raid. Security forces confiscated her phone and devices, leaving her family without any information on her whereabouts or well-being. She stands accused of sending protest-related videos to foreign media and now faces the very real threat of a death sentence on trumped-up security charges.

This is not an isolated incident. At least eight teachers have been detained in recent weeks for their involvement in the uprising, including Amir Rahimi (Azna), Sattar Zarei (Khomeini Shahr), Ali Shamaili (Songhor), Shervin Hamideh (Karaj), Farhad Rahmani (Takestan), Ali Imani Motlagh (Lorestan), and Masoud Kiani (Shabad). Many remain incommunicado, at risk of torture, coerced confessions, unfair trials, and execution in Revolutionary Courts.
