As brave people of Iran continue their fight to save Melika Azizi and other protesters on death row, tragic news has leaked about the execution of 20-year-old Ali Heidari. Ali was arrested in Mashhad on January 8, 2026. After weeks of silence and his family’s desperate search, his body was returned to them yesterday. Like many victims of the "January Uprising," Ali’s body bore clear signs of torture. 

Consistent with other cases, authorities pressured his family to sign pledges promising not to hold public mourning ceremonies and to remain silent about the circumstances of his death in exchange for the release of his body.

With over 300 executions reported in the last month alone, the Iranian judiciary has moved from the streets to the gallows.
