single-use plastic not in use in fast food

The issue

every piece of plastic created still exists in the world today!

plastic in the ocean is responsible for the deaths of over 100000 sea mammals and millions of sea birds every year. plastic waste is contaminating us human through the process of consumption of fish and other seafood.

plastic doesn't just disappear nor does it brake down rather it brakes up and can float around for years, decades! travelling until the moment it is swallowed up by an animal. with recent reports estimating that the average human consumes up to 11000 fragments of microplastic a year.

around 8 million metric tonnes of plastic enter the ocean each year. by 2050 it's estimated that there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.

fast food chains still haven't caught on and are selling more plastic than ever before: plastic cups, straws, lids, knife, forks and bags, are leaving the store at rapid speeds. McDonald's sells an average of 10 million plastic straws a day. these one time use plastic is ending up in land fill or is polluting our waters killing the beautiful marine life.

fast food store can substitute plastic to biodegradable, eco-friendly alternatives such as cardboard and save our oceans and turtles
