The extreme leash only recommendations in the proposed Saanich People, Pets and Parks Strategy have to be stopped:

These recommendations don’t align with the views of Saanich residents, 75 percent of whom believe that having most parks off leash has real benefits in our community.
If accepted by Saanich Council on June 26th, all off leash access in 104 parks will be gone, as well as on every single beach in Saanich, except Cordova Bay. 
It will take away 84% of the off leash park space in Saanich
It reduces off leash trails in PKOLS (aka Mount Doug) to a single 1.5 km loop, cutting out 93% of current off leash trails.
It eliminates off leash access from Panama Flats, Colquitz River Park and about 3/4 of Cuthbert Holmes Park.
All at an estimated cost to taxpayers of $4-7 million over the next 5 years
Please add your voice and tell Saanich Council to immediately reject these very expensive, unneeded and excessive leash recommendations.
