The Ukrainian World Congress has launched a new initiative that aims to highlight Russian atrocities in Ukraine.
#russianshameday is aimed at subverting Russia's important civic holiday by highlighting the war crimes Russia has committed in Ukraine.
As Putin prepares to inflame even more anti-Ukrainian and anti-Western hysteria on Russia’s 9th of May propaganda feast, the UWC announces a global Russian Shame Day campaign on social media. Let’s all show the world the true face of the aggressor!
Today Ukraine is fighting for all of us, for the whole world! We have no right to leave Ukraine alone! Unite with Ukraine! Stop Russia forever! #RussianShameDay #UniteWithUkraine #StandWithUkraine.
Statement from UCC National President Alexandra Chyczij:
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov’s anti-Semitic statement is reprehensible and demonstrates the Russian regime’s inherent racism and hatred of other peoples and nations.
Lavrov represents a regime which is committing mass atrocities, mass rape and systematic war crimes in its genocidal war against Ukraine.
The UCC calls upon the government of Canada to expel all representatives of the terrorist Russian regime."
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov said: "I could be wrong, but Hitler also had Jewish blood. [That Zelensky is Jewish] means absolutely nothing. Wise Jewish people say that the most ardent anti-Semites are usually Jews."
For this May 09, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is aiming to subvert Russia’s attempts to celebrate its annual “Victory Day” by branding May 9th as “Russian Shame Day”.
The campaign is asking supporters of Ukraine from all over the globe, to divert attention from the forced celebrations of ‘victory’ in Russia on May 9th, and instead flood social media with images of the atrocities committed by the Russian Army in Ukraine. While Putin makes false claims of victory in parts of Ukraine and celebrates the war, the UWC is calling on all people to unite to shame Russia and its aggression against Ukraine.
The UWC is asking all supporters of Ukraine from ordinary social media users to members of the international community, to high profile influencers and media personalities, to support the campaign by spreading information about “Russian Shame Day” on social media with one simple message:
NO VICTORY TO RUSSIA
#RUSSIANSHAMEDAY
