Since our last update, news has surfaced that Senator Claire McCaskill’s campaign was attacked by ‘Fancy Bear,’ the Russian hackers that stole John Podesta’s emails for use against the Clinton 2016 campaign. Senator McCaskill is believed to be one of three unnamed politicians unsuccessfully attacked by Russians; Microsoft was able to thwart these three attacks. Always keep in mind that Putin’s ultimate goal is to seed discord within a large segment of the right or the left making them believe their votes were stolen. While individual federal agencies are taking action as best they can within their existing mission statements, the President has not implemented any aggressive, unified national plan to fight back against Russia. With the President’s abysmal record for telling the truth (3,251 false or misleading claims in his first 497 days as president according to the Washington Post), it is not surprising that Trump made the twisted claims: "I'm very concerned that Russia will be fighting very hard to have an impact on the upcoming Election…. they (the Russians) will be pushing very hard for the Democrats. They definitely don't want Trump!" The last claim is clearly contrary to Putin’s comment in Helsinki to Reuters reporter Jeff Mason’s question “President Putin, did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?” Putin’s response was “Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Because he (Trump) talked about bringing the U.S.–Russia relationship back to normal.”
