We, the residents of Roman Fields, PE47, feel forgotten.

Our estate has over 800 homes. Many of us have lived here for 10+ years. We love our neighbours. We love our homes.

But we have nothing.

On an estate of 800+ homes we have:

• 1 playground

• 2 bus stops  

• 1 post box

• 0 shops

• 0 benches

• 0 playing fields

• 0 safe places for children to ride bikes 

We started calling our estate "Forgotten Fields" because that is how Peterborough City Council makes us feel. Forgotten.

We are starting the Forgotten Fields group for all residents of PE47.

Our goals: get to know each other, discuss what our community needs, and make the City Council finally notice us.

Roman Fields deserves basic infrastructure. Families deserve safe spaces. Children deserve somewhere to play. Elderly residents deserve somewhere to sit. Everyone deserves a local shop.

We, the undersigned, call on Peterborough City Council to:

1. Meet with residents of Roman Fields PE47 for urgent public consultation on priority investments for our estate.

2. Commit funding in the next budget for basic community infrastructure including: a convenience shop, public benches and green spaces, and a safe recreational area/playing field for children.

3. Appoint a council liaison to maintain ongoing dialogue with the Forgotten Fields group. 

"The developer sold us "Roman Fields." We got a bedroom without life.

Peterborough City Council issued the permit. And forgot that people need more than a roof over their heads."

"Where are our children supposed to play? Where are seniors supposed to sit? Where can we buy milk without starting the car?"

Let's show the city council and the developer that 2,000 people aren't air.

"You'll find us easily. Go straight, pass everything we don't have, and you'll be there."

Roman Fields should not be Forgotten Fields.
