The Problem
Roblox says it's committed to keeping kids safe. But when volunteers actually try to help protect children on their platform, Roblox's response is shocking – they ban them, threaten them, and even take legal action against them.

I'm talking about the YouTubers, community members, and everyday users who spend their own time tracking down predators and groomers on Roblox. These aren't vigilantes or troublemakers. They're people who care enough about child safety to do the hard work of identifying dangerous users and reporting them.

And how does Roblox thank them? By shutting down their accounts, issuing takedown notices, and threatening lawsuits.

Why This Matters
This backwards approach doesn't just hurt the people trying to help – it actually makes kids less safe. When Roblox goes after safety advocates instead of working with them, they're essentially telling predators: "Don't worry, we'll silence anyone who tries to expose you."

Think about it: if you found someone grooming kids on Roblox, would you feel safe reporting it publicly if you knew the company might come after you legally? Most people wouldn't take that risk. And that's exactly what predators are counting on.

With over 70 million people using Roblox every day (most of them kids), we can't afford to have safety advocates scared into silence.

What We're Asking For
Roblox needs to completely change how they handle this. Specifically, we want them to:

Stop the retaliation. No more banning, threatening, or suing people who are genuinely trying to protect kids on your platform.

Create real protection for safety advocates. Put in place a clear policy that people won't be punished for reporting predatory behavior in good faith.

Start working together instead of fighting. Set up proper channels for safety advocates to report urgent concerns directly to Roblox's safety team.

Be transparent about what you're doing. Regular reports on how safety issues are being handled would go a long way toward rebuilding trust.

The Bottom Line
If Roblox really cares about protecting children, they need to stop treating child safety advocates like the enemy. These people are volunteers doing work that Roblox should be grateful for, not work they should be trying to shut down.

Our kids deserve better than a platform that prioritizes protecting its reputation over protecting its users.
